Wow...gas week is going really well so far :) I'm having great success even with very simple density functions. Here's a simple fractal Worley noise modulated by a low-frequency value noise mask:
Those clouds look real to me!!! Although, something about the way the color bleeds into them bothers me...it seems too saturated, but I can't rationalize why. I mean, it makes sense...it should be saturated, because there's really intense light coming from behind. Maybe the sun is just too orange.
I hope I can manage this same quality with the final shot. Even just overlaying a ship and asteroid field on this shot seems like it would be epic!
